Energy Abundance

The world is without doubt a better place with abundant inexpensive energy.

Abundant supplies of cheap energy have transformed the world. Throughout the industrial revolution and into today, this has been provided by coal, oil and gas.

The fossil fuel lobby rightly articulate that it is fossil fuels that have driven the wealth creation of the past 200 years. Fernihough et al 2021: “geology mattered for economic growth”.

But the question arises, can we still continue to advance as a society if energy costs permanently become more expensive?

Is wind energy cheap or not cheap?

This is a polarising question. And there is lots of partial information out in the public debate.

We believe that wind and solar are actually both the cheapest form of electricity and the most expensive form of electricity at the same time.

The marginal unit cost is cheap (or free depending on how you look at it). But to cope with the occasions when renewables are unavailable, you still require fossil fuel power stations to step into the breach at short notice. That infrastructure is artificially kept dormant when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing. So the overall cost trends upwards.

Keeping Energy Costs Low

Energy prices and energy policy are intertwined with geo-politics, lobby groups and vested interests.

What interests us as consumers is the price we pay at home. And naturally we want to use energy when we need it, but don’t want to pay over the odds for it.

It is well documented that over the past 24 months many British households have been rationing energy, as prices have risen and government subsidies have temporarily underpinned prices and consumption.

Energy Abundance at home

Energy Abundance takes the traditional concepts of Energy Efficiency (using better technology to perform the same function but using less energy) and Energy Conservation (using less energy through behavioural change) and supercharges them.

We embrace local energy generation and storage in combination with the lessons from both Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation best practice.

The result? Cheap energy on demand. Warm homes. Increased standards of living.

Brimstone Energy’s Vision: Every UK household & business has abundant cheap energy.

Your author has owned a tumble dryer for 10 years, but hardly ever turned it on until recently. Why? The expense. The cost. The waste of money.

It got to the stage last year where a Sunday roast was costing £3-£5 in electricity costs, more than the Aldi extra-large Chicken.

It is self evident that we need abundant cheap energy, since it makes life better.

To enable this, everyone therefore needs:

  • Solar panels paired with a Home Storage Battery.

Or if they don’t have a suitable roof:

  • Home Storage Battery (and a time of use electricity tariff)
The GivEnergy range of batteries

Interestingly, the economics of the Home Storage Battery are such that the more electricity you use, the better the pay back.

So, you may turn on your tumble dryer to you hearts content!

Let Brimstone Energy help you achieve energy abundance.
