A PassivHaus designer does what is best for you, your home and the environment. PassiveHause is a tried & tested solution that provides a range of proven approaches to deliver net-zero-ready new and existing buildings optimised for a decarbonised grid. PassivHaus buildings provide a high level of occupant comfort using very little energy for heating and cooling.

A PassivHaus designer adopts a whole-building approach with clear, measured targets, focused on high-quality construction, certified through an exacting quality assurance process.

The heat losses of the building are reduced so much that it hardly needs any heating at all.

Passive heat sources like the sun, human occupants, household appliances and the heat from the extract air cover a large part of the heating demand.

The remaining heat can be provided by the supply air if the maximum heating load is less than 10W per square metre of living space. If such supply-air heating suffices as the only heat source, we call the building a Passivhaus.

What is a PassivHaus Designer?

A PassivHaus designer considers the totality of a building, from its construction techniques to its orientation to the sun, and interplay with surrounding landscapes and vegetation.

• We account for how core design choices impact on performance and achieving the standard, exploring form factor, airtightness, thermal bridging.
